Hours: Wed-Thu 2-10p, Fri-Sat 2-11p & Sun 12-6p
Grindhaus Brew Lab is a family run, neighborhood brewery that uses only the highest quality ingredients. Every beer on tap is hand-crafted in extra small batches to keep it ultra-fresh when served. Grindhaus specializes in carrying a wide range of beer styles, with new and experimental brews on tap every Friday at 5pm, and Cult and Classic movies showing in the tasting room Friday and Saturday nights at 6 and 8pm. You won’t find Grindhaus Brew Lab’s beer sold anywhere else but the tasting room, and you won’t find standard pints – instead you will find Grindhaus’s signature beakers of beer!
Grindhaus Brew Lab was brewed up by the minds of Robb Larson and Lisa Colburn-Larson. Robb & Lisa have an extensive history in craft beer, dating back to when Robb got his start homebrewing in college in the 1990’s. After meeting, & a brief brewing hiatus while moving to Florida, they bought a house & resumed homebrewing. Soon after Robb was featured in a Creative Loafing story about homebrewing by Taylor Eason, then was asked to take on the role as beer blogger for TaylorEason.com. About that same time he introduced a friend to his homebrews, which inspired his buddy to open a brewery in Tampa. Robb spent the next couple of years there as the Small Batch/Pilot Brewer & Director of Beer Development, while getting his Siebel certifications in Sensory Panel Management, Master of Beer Styles, & Professional Beer Styles & Tasting. Meanwhile, Lisa was starting up the Bay Area Barley’s Angels, a craft beer education group for women, publishing the Craft Beer Tasting Journal (available on Amazon), & getting her Cicerone Certified Beer Server.
Not being large brewery people, in 2015 Robb & Lisa decided to pursue their dream of a owning a small, community business & opened HiFi Homebrew Supply (now Grindhaus Brew Lab Homebrew Supply), followed by the Grindhaus Brew Lab Tap Room in 2016, where they continue to focus on quality & education.
